The concept behind the Carkeek 40 was to create a yacht that is equally at home offshore or around the buoys, and most importantly provides a platform which can truly achieve explosive and exhilarating sailing. ‘Decision’, the first Carkeek 40 to hit the water, certainly provided that for her crew on her first competitive outing at the 39th International Rolex Regatta in St. Thomas.
Having had only a few hours available for training after her launch, the regatta was the first time the crew from Decision were able to sail her competitively, and in the coming weeks further tuning, training and optimisation will allow her to reach her full potential.
We are excited to see what Decision and the other Carkeek 40’s soon to hit the water will achieve in the near future.
