The crew from the Carkeek 40 ‘Decision’ did a great job in the 2012 Newport-Bermuda race, coming 5th overall on corrected time, only a few hours behind the mini maxi’s and the record breaking 90ft ‘Rambler’. Decision also won it’s class under IRC corrected time, a class including two TP52’s. The crew sailed all the way with the TP52’s, a R/P 55 and the 100ft Wally ‘Indio’, finishing over 5 hours ahead (on the water and under corrected time) of the nearest 40 footer, the 43ft IRC race yacht ‘Ptarmigan’.

The IRC race results are here (Decision is in Class 8), and there is some brief footage from the race here from ‘Clean’ over at Sailing Anarchy, who joined the Decision crew for the race.
