Having won her class in the 2012 Newport - Bermuda race, Stephen Murray and his crew on ‘Decision’ went on to sail well in Friday’s Royal Bermuda YC Anniversary Regatta to win first place boat in the Onion Patch 2012 series! As the top individual boat in the Onion Patch Series, Stephen and ‘Decision’ win the Henry B. du Pont Trophy. Congratulations to Stephen Murray and his crew, who sailed the entire IRC series with Decision in HPR mode!
The crew from the Carkeek 40 ‘Decision’ did a great job in the 2012 Newport-Bermuda race, coming 5th overall on corrected time, only a few hours behind the mini maxi’s and the record breaking 90ft ‘Rambler’. Decision also won it’s class under IRC corrected time, a class including two TP52’s. The crew sailed all the way with the TP52’s, a R/P 55 and the 100ft Wally ‘Indio’, finishing over 5 hours ahead (on the water and under corrected time) of the nearest 40 footer, the 43ft IRC race yacht ‘Ptarmigan’…

For those clients interested in a dual purpose HPR/IRC racing yacht, we have developed an IRC mode for the Carkeek 45. This allows owners to be competitive under both rules…
Coming soon - the Carkeek 45, a grand prix HPR racer, but also competitive under IRC…
Stephen Murray and his crew onboard the Carkeek 40 ‘Decision’ have won the Regatta Al Sol, taking both line honours, and winning under PHRF corrected time. All while the boat is in full HPR mode! Congratulations to Stephen and his crew.
